TEWS has an opportunity for a talented Technical/Business Analyst with a Product mindset. Our client is an enterprise international company with main offices in Orlando. This is a remote role but prefers candidates based in Florida.

This role will act as a liaison between the business stakeholder, corporate partners, and support teams. This role will be responsible for eliciting and documenting business processes and software requirements for product features and technology initiatives, partner integrations, analytics, and reporting. This role will need to exhibit both business and technical expertise to be successful. This position will bridge the gap between business objectives and IT. The right candidate for this role will be able to work directly and effectively with team members, executives and partners to understand business needs, communicate expectations, and execute solutions.

Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures and develops business models to support business requirements. Develops use case requirement specifications to meet the business need and provides traceability of those requirements to execute unit, integration and acceptance testing working with the development team on defect triaging, data analysis, and issue resolution. Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements ensuring that the quality of the product or service of the business need is met to customer satisfaction following best practices with a primary focus on the following responsibilities:
  • As part of the technology team, the Technical Analyst acts as liaison between the business and internal teams to ensure tight collaboration and alignment and develops business relationships across companies and develops domain knowledge of organizational direction, objectives, operations, processes, and associated applications.
  • Under the direction of management, works on initiatives to define project scope, identify constraints, dependencies and tasks associated with requirements management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert both internally and externally regarding applications, integrations and business processes. Maintains a high level of knowledge of assigned applications and system.
  • Performs analysis and triage issues on applications they support. Mid-level technical level with reporting and SQL queries.
  • Work directly with leadership, business stakeholders, and support teams to gain an understanding of business needs and how they translate to feature requests
  • Ensure that appropriate information on updates, upgrades, outages, etc. is distributed to the appropriate groups as needed.
  • Work with Business Owners to develop and maintain a product roadmap. Review and manage system upgrades in association with road map.
  • Facilitate project estimations by understanding high level requirement and existing system process to work with development leads to develop estimates for planning.
  • Create and review high-quality business analysis artifacts including user stories, use cases, process flows, activity diagrams, wireframes and other common supporting documents (PRDs, BRDs, process diagrams, etc.)
  • Monitor ServiceNow tickets to 1) triage issue and help solve, and 2) look for trends and determine how best to address.
  • Evaluate vendors for value solution when required for project planning, reviewing technology, scoring options and providing recommendations based on evaluation.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all current and planned efforts for assigned systems and act as point person for any coordination that may be needed to sequence projects or work based on system requirements.
  • Review and create QA plans as needed for assigned projects/upgrades ensuring functionality has been correctly represented and the level of planned testing is appropriate for each release.
  • Act as trusted advisor to business partners providing thought leadership in operations, technology, and processes.
  • Translates and documents business requirements into functional requirements by developing use cases and business scenarios to support each identified requirement.
  • Works with stakeholders and project team members to prioritize the documented requirements and gain approval.
  • Develops process models, specifications, and use case models as needed by the project to provide solutions and direction to the architect, software developers and the project team.
  • Maintain and reconcile forward and backward traceability of requirements through quality assurance testing and product acceptance.
  • Supports business requirements throughout design, development, defect triage, system testing, and implementation to Production and Hyper-care phase.
  • Performs quality assurance activities as required by the project team under the direction of the leadership team.
  • Can work independently, but also as part of a larger team, to elicit and use technical and business requirements to drive the software development process. Can manage a project’s scope and acceptance through the deployment of the application. A strong communicator, both verbally and written, and have written technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to break down complex business and technical processes into clear requirements (BRD, user stories, tasks, acceptance criteria)
  • Demonstrated focus on meeting customer expectations supporting business and IT professionals, working with a customer service mindset
  • Ability to travel to other locations (both domestic and international) as needed (travel 10%)
  • Mid-level knowledge and experience in technical queries and reporting. Ability to extract and work with data from a data base and flat files. Mid-level SQL knowledge with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Mid-level knowledge with interface technologies and have the ability to understand and test interfaces with developers and vendors. Good understanding of integration concepts, methodologies, and technologies; functional knowledge of REST, SOAP or similar technologies
  • Using practices and processes for the development of well-informed business/system requirements
  • Interpersonal skills to liaison extensively with partners and internal stakeholders to help negotiate priorities, resolve conflicts among project stakeholders, and establish scope
  • Passion for exceptional documentation including diagrams, standards, and project papers
  • Innovative thinker with out-of-the-box ideas to improve process, product and people
  • Analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, disseminate high-level concepts into details, distinguish true needs from amongst the collection of requirements, and create logical and innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to simultaneously dive deep into the detail with engineers and designers while having command of the big picture to articulate goals and vision to stakeholders
Education and Experience:
  • Required: Bachelors degree in information technology related discipline or equivalent from accredited college or university (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Required: At least 5+ years of work experience in an IT environment functioning as a Technical Analyst where being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) was required.
  • Technical acumen to write and understand SQL and data from an interface and reporting perspective.
