Seeking a Sr. Accountant that can think strategically, a Tews Company partner is looking to add to their growing team. Combining standard accounting processes with solution-based strategy, the Senior Accountant is responsible for guiding the company’s Business Partners through financial solutions related to operations variances.

PAY RATE: $67,000 - $70,000 plus 10% bonus

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (including education and certifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in financial accounting
  • Full life-cycle accounting experience
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and high level of integrity, ingenuity and initiative. The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and flexibility to work hours needed to meet deadlines is critical for this position
  • Strong Excel (will need to be able to do pivot tables and V-look ups)
  • Must be able to work in a team, recognize problems and offer potential solutions
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time (Will definitely travel 25% due to new acquisitions)


  • PeopleSoft skills preferred


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day to day accounting for each location in their portfolio, while adhering to policies and procedures, performing requisite month end close activities, and providing issue resolution and guidance. The Senior Accountant is expected to work as a business partner with each location manager and administrative staff, analyzing and guiding them through their monthly results and advising them on solutions related to operational variances. Serves as project lead on various system upgrades and maintenance. Each Senior Accountant is assigned multiple Field Locations (rooftops) to support and monitor, as allocated by the Accounting Manager.

  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, reviewing trial balance and reconciling entries
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information to ensure reasonable accuracy of the balance sheet, profit and loss and other statements; Provides budget to actual performance variance analysis
  • Completes external audit assignments by analyzing general ledger accounts and providing that information and/or schedule to the auditors
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Communicates with assigned location personnel regarding financial results and serves as a financial partner to assist in achieving financial targets and providing guidance in making financial decisions
  • Assists in accounting training and knowledge transfer to Location Leader and admin staff for assigned locations
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management
