Payroll Specialist for Christian Nonprofit!

Are you a skilled Payroll Specialist with a heart for supporting a mission-focused Christian nonprofit? Our client s looking for a dedicated payroll professional for a fully on-site role in Orlando. This position offers a competitive salary of $55-60K, full benefits, and a Monday-Friday schedule during regular business hours.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or similar field preferred, or associate degree with relevant payroll certification or training
• 3-5 years’ experience in payroll, with strong skills in payroll software and HRIS systems, Paylocity preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Solid understanding of payroll principles, including wage laws and payroll regulations
• Commitment to the values and mission of the Christian nonprofit

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for over 3,500 employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments
• Update employee records, including tax forms, benefits deductions, and direct deposits
• Verify compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws, handling wage payments for both exempt and nonexempt employees
• Reconcile payroll data, process deductions, and oversee garnishment setups and tax record maintenance
• Coordinate with HR to process employee changes, including status updates, pay adjustments, and terminations
• Create and review payroll reports to ensure accuracy across various payroll elements
• Provide prompt, professional payroll support to employees and other departments
• Safeguard payroll information and maintain awareness of changes in payroll regulations
