Job Description

Established Orlando private school seeks highly professional Staff Accountant well versed in financial reporting and financial modeling.   Successful candidate will possess stable job history and a degree in either Accounting or Finance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 
  • Streamlines financial reporting processes by identifying inefficiencies, implementing automation tools, and standardizing reporting practices.
  • Develops and maintains financial dashboards to provide real-time insights into key performance metrics for decision-making.
  • Collaborates with the CFO to manage special projects, including financial modeling, forecasting, and ad hoc analyses.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Supports compliance with external audits and ensures adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies and implements best practices in financial reporting and accounting, ensuring the organization remains forward-thinking and innovative.
  • Assists with day-to-day accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger.
  • Supports processing check requests, invoices, and all travel reimbursements through the automated Accounts Payable platform.
  • Serves as a secondary processor for Accounts Payable and Payroll.
  • Prepares daily student billing logs, reconciles payments, and runs online payment reports.
  • Processes invoice payments via AP Visa credit card.
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and reporting explanations for variances.

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP).
  • Proficient in accounting and financial software, with a strong ability to learn and implement new technologies (e.g., ERP systems, dashboard tools)
  • Exhibits exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present it effectively.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Possesses excellent organizational and time-management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Communicates effectively, both written and verbally, with team members, leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Adapts quickly to new challenges, technologies, and environments, maintaining a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Maintains the highest level of integrity and confidentiality with financial information
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency with financial reporting tools and dashboard creation
