Seeking a Seasoned Controller to Lead and Mentor a Growing Orlando Team

Schedule: Fully Onsite | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

A growing organization with an upbeat, people-first culture is seeking an experienced Controller to lead their accounting function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who wants to make a meaningful impact on both the business and its people. You’ll oversee all core accounting operations and play a key role in optimizing processes, driving compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Accounting Operations & Oversight

• Direct the daily activities of AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger teams.

• Own the month-end close process and ensure timely preparation of financial statements.

• Deliver accurate internal reporting aligned with GAAP and internal policies.

Leadership & Team Development

• Supervise, coach, and mentor accounting team members at all levels.

• Promote professional growth through ongoing feedback, training, and performance reviews.

• Foster a supportive and accountable team environment.

Compliance & Controls

• Design and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure audit readiness.

• Develop and enforce accounting policies, offering training and guidance as needed.

• Lead efforts around external audits, inventory procedures, and tax documentation.

Cash & Risk Management

• Manage banking relationships, cash flow forecasting, and treasury functions.

• Oversee bank wires, transfers, and multi-account fund movement.

Process Improvement & Strategic Projects

• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in accounting systems and workflows.

• Investigate unusual or complex transactions and present findings to leadership.

• Serve as a key partner across departments, contributing insights for business decisions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Active CPA license required.

• At least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.

• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

• Demonstrated success managing audits, tax readiness, and treasury operations.

• A natural mentor with a passion for developing others and creating team unity.

• Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.

• Industry experience in creative services, technology, or entertainment is a bonus.
