Purchasing Specialist – Nursery, Landscaping & Plant Supply
A growing organization in the horticulture and retail space is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support purchasing operations and help maintain optimal inventory levels of products and materials.
This role works closely with vendors, receiving teams, and internal departments to place and track purchase orders, monitor inventory levels, and ensure timely product delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys supporting smooth day-to-day operations behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with placing and tracking purchase orders for inventory and supplies

Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and delivery timelines

Monitor inventory levels and identify reordering needs

Support inventory cycle counts and stock accuracy

Coordinate with receiving teams to verify shipments and resolve discrepancies

Maintain purchasing records, vendor data, and product information

Assist with purchasing reports, inventory trends, and seasonal forecasting
Qualifications
-
2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or inventory management experience

Experience in horticulture, agriculture, nursery, or landscaping environments preferred

Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)

Strong Excel and inventory system skills

Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication skills

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
