General Manager
Job Description
We are a small manufacturing company in Jessup, MD. With a reputation for quality and personalized service, we are looking for a dynamic General Manager to lead our team, oversee day-to-day operations, and drive business development initiatives that expand our client base and deepen existing relationships.
Position Summary:
The General Manager will be responsible for managing all facets of the company’s operations, including production, supply chain, staffing, and financial performance. In addition to internal leadership, this role will be a key external face of the business, charged with identifying and securing new business opportunities while strengthening partnerships with current clients to support sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management

Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, logistics, procurement, and quality control.

Ensure production goals are met while maintaining efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and product quality.

Supervise, mentor, and support cross-functional teams including production staff, supervisors, and office personnel.

Implement continuous improvement processes to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
Business Development

Identify and pursue new client relationships through strategic outreach, networking, and partnerships.

Lead client proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.

Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to capitalize on market opportunities.
Client Relations & Account Expansion

Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring satisfaction and identifying upselling opportunities.

Conduct regular check-ins and site visits with current customers to assess needs and drive additional business.

Work closely with production to ensure delivery timelines and quality standards are consistently met.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).

7+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a general management or equivalent role.

Proven success in business development, client relationship management, and sales growth.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, operational efficiency, and team leadership.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to think strategically and act tactically in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Compensation & Benefits:

$125,000-$145,000 base salary range
