Accounts Receivable Specialist - AIA Construction Billing 

 

Orlando, FL | Fully Onsite | $55,000–$60,000 | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist with a strong background in AIA billing and construction accounting. This role requires someone who can immediately step into a fast-paced environment and manage complex construction billing processes with minimal ramp-up time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit AIA pay applications, progress billings, and contract-based invoices.
  • Manage billing through customer and general contractor portals, ensuring compliance with project requirements and deadlines.
  • Process and track lien waivers, releases, and other construction-related documentation.
  • Review contracts, change orders, schedules of values, and project documentation to ensure accurate billing.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Post payments, reconcile accounts, and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Maintain organized project billing files and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with collections activities while maintaining positive client relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Accounts Receivable experience in the construction industry.
  • Hands-on experience preparing and submitting AIA billings/pay applications.
  • Experience processing lien waivers and construction-related billing documentation.
  • Experience with customer and contractor billing portals.
  • Strong understanding of progress billing, retainage, change orders, and construction contracts.
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to billing accuracy.
  • Experience working for a general contractor, subcontractor, or construction-related organization.
  • Familiarity with job costing and project accounting.
