Accounting & Payroll Manager
Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Hybrid flexibility
Salary: $90-$95k
Travel: International travel required

This is more than a traditional payroll or accounting role. A growing organization is seeking an Accounting & Payroll Manager to take ownership of payroll operations, support accounting, and play a key role in building a new function from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and migration of a new HRIS/payroll system.
- Oversee full-cycle payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Partner with internal and international teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll and accounting processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll and accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
- Support additional accounting and finance initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- Strong full-cycle payroll experience.
- Experience with payroll/HRIS implementation or system migration strongly preferred.
- Solid accounting/GL experience, including month-end close and reconciliations.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Adaptable and comfortable taking ownership of a newly created role.
- International payroll experience preferred; hospitality experience is a plus.
- Experience with M3, Celery, or similar systems is a plus.
