Manager, Corporate Accounting and Reporting

Tews Company has partnered with a real estate investment firm in Orlando who is seeking a driven Manager, Corporate Accounting and Reporting. They currently operate on a hybrid schedule of four days onsite and one day remote. This is a Controller track role. The salary range is $115k-$125k

Overall Responsibility: The Manager is responsible for all accounting, internal controls, and internal reporting functions for all real estate investments made in various funds across the portfolio. The Manager is expected to support audit and tax work at the fund levels while acting as the Company’s primary accounting contact for operators at the property level.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accuracy: Oversee the timely and accurate recording of all property activity received from operators.

  • System Integration: Lead accounting integration to ensure property activity consolidates efficiently at the fund levels.

  • Database Management: Manage the accounting database for new acquisitions (setting up properties/COA) and user access, while leading internal and external communication on best practices.

  • Audit & Tax Support: Prepare schedules and reports to support fund-level audit and tax work, serving as the primary point of contact for these processes.

  • Policy Documentation: Document accounting policies and procedures in accordance with FASB and REIT guidelines.

  • Internal Controls: Review and monitor internal controls to ensure the integrity of company and property records and the safety of assets.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Manage debt compliance and stand-alone reporting requirements (HUD, PILOT, etc.).

  • Budgeting: Assist with compiling annual budgets and ensuring they are properly integrated into accounting software and approved by Owners and operators.

  • Cash Management: Manage the intercompany billing process (OPCO/PROPCO) and perform cash management analysis to ensure liquidity for rent, debt, and fund sweeps.

  • Team Leadership: Manage, train, and develop the corporate accounting staff.

Preferred Industry Experience: Big 4, PE-backed environments, REITs, Real Estate, or Seniors Housing.

Software Proficiency: Yardi, Advanced Excel.
