*Our construction partner is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Payroll Specialist.*
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
In Office
$26-$28/hour, depending on experience
Estimated Contract Length: 2-3 months
You are:
- 3+ years of certified payroll experience in construction, with multi-entity/subsidiary exposure
- Strong working knowledge of Davis-Bacon, prevailing wage, and union payroll requirements
- Northeast union payroll experience is highly preferred (e.g., NY, NJ, PA, MA)
- Familiarity with fringe benefit calculations and benefit fund reporting
- Experience using construction payroll or ERP systems
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and deadline management
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
What you will do?
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure full compliance with Davis-Bacon Act, local prevailing wage laws, and union agreements
- Accurately calculate and report wages, deductions, and fringe benefits per applicable wage determinations
- Maintain and submit required forms
- Track and manage multiple union contracts and wage rates across jurisdictions
- Collaborate with field operations, HR, and accounting to gather timecards and labor data
- Update wage rate schedules as they are issued by unions or government authorities
- Reconcile discrepancies in hours, pay, or benefits reported
- Maintain accurate records of job classifications, apprentice ratios, and employee certifications
