A dynamic and well-established organization is seeking an Assistant Finance Director to help oversee and lead its accounting operations. This role supports the Finance Director in supervising accounting functions, ensuring compliance, maintaining internal controls, and contributing to financial strategy and reporting.

You are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field with a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of supervisory and professional accounting experience in Florida Government.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA preferred.
- CPA or CGFO preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of governmental or fund accounting preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work within a nuanced environment.
What you will do?

This role supports the Finance Director in supervising accounting functions, ensuring compliance, maintaining internal controls, and contributing to financial strategy and reporting.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead and manage key accounting functions including receivables, payables, property accounting, special assessments, and general ledger.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff; conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
- Assist in financial system operations, integrations, and upgrades across departments.
- Coordinate annual assessment billing and collections in partnership with local agencies.
- Support bond issuance, compliance reporting, and post-issuance requirements.
- Prepare audit materials and ensure timely completion of financial reports.
- Provide financial insights and reporting to senior leadership.
