Senior Accounting Manager (Temp) – East Orlando
$60/hr | Fully Onsite | M–F Business Hours | Now through November (Possible Extension)
Tews Company is partnering with a well-established client in East Orlando to identify an experienced Senior Accounting Manager for a temporary engagement through November, with the possibility to extend. This is a fully onsite role supporting high-level corporate accounting functions during a critical period.
This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings a high level of GAAP expertise, and enjoys working both independently and collaboratively to drive results. There are no direct reports for this assignment, but strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee and coordinate the monthly close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Review and prepare journal entries, payroll interfaces, and expense allocations.
- Manage corporate overhead allocation processes.
- Reconcile complex vendor statements and work with AP teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze internal and external financial reports, including consolidated P&L, cash flow summaries, and compliance schedules.
- Support year-end audit activities, coordinate requests with external auditors, and provide technical guidance on GAAP matters.
- Review budgeting and forecasting models prepared by staff accountants and present consolidated summaries for executive approval.
- Handle assigned corporate accounting functions, including lease compliance, shareholder loans, and abandoned property reporting.
- Manage accounting for employee benefit plans, including pension, 401(k), and supplemental savings programs in coordination with actuaries and third-party vendors.
What You Bring:
- Master’s degree in Accounting (required)
- 10+ years of progressive GAAP accounting experience (public or corporate)
- CPA strongly preferred
- Extensive experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and external audits
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP, including technical research and application
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
