REMOTE OPPORTUNITY!
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Medical Billing Specialist to play a key role in ensuring patient accounts are accurately processed!
Pay: $17-$21/hour, depending on experience
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Patient Account Specialist or 3 years’ experience in medical billing, collections, managed care or related field.
- Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Communications, Business, Finance or related area may substitute for 2 years’ required experience
- Experience with appeals, denials, and payer communication.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve denied, underpaid, or improperly paid claims with insurance carriers.
- Analyze claims, process appeals and identify trends in payer non-compliance.
- Apply knowledge of contracts, billing regulations, and reimbursement procedures.
- Collaborate with payers and internal teams to expedite claim payments.
- Handle coordination of benefits, duplicate billing, and special projects.
- Maintain accurate records and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Use payer systems and reports to investigate denials, variances, and rejections.
