A Maitland company is looking for a new Senior Staff Accountant to add to their team.


This is a great opportunity to make an impact in a smaller company and to serve as a mentor to more junior accountants! 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Calculate, prepare and post journal entries in the general ledgers for multiple companies
  • Reconcile the bank statements
  • Reconcile all general ledger accounts
  • Review and code monthly expense reimbursements
  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers
  • Review income statement trends
  • Prepare monthly financial statement binders
  • Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Report to management regarding the finances of establishment
  • Establish general ledger accounts and assign entries to proper accounts
  • Provide internal and external auditing services
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice
  • Assist in corporate accounting department as directed by Controller
  • Other duties as assigned by Controller

Applicant Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field required
  • Five year minimum general ledger accounting experience
  • Excellent math skills required; the ability to add, subtract, or divide quickly and correctly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding relationship among seemingly unrelated events)
  • Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
  • Ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment to meet all deadlines
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be able to take a test on Microsoft Excel skills
