We are currently looking for a Director of Finance for our client in the Oviedo. This candidate will handle a variety of accounting responsibilities and will join the growing accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of budgeting, reporting and financial statements.

Other skills and experience needed for the role:

• Strong Excel skills
• A demonstrated ability to develop staff and team capabilities
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once
• 7+ years of experience in accounting
• Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, management, or related field. Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered.

Preferred Experience:

Professional certification (CPA) is a plus but not required
 

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the daily operation of the accounting department, which includes general accounting, A/P, A/R, payroll, taxes, and reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts.
• Maintaining and improving accounting controls as needed.
• Update and maintain the general ledger information. Reviewed transactions monthly to ensure accuracy of account balances.
• Research accounting issues and evaluates and analyzes financial data and trends; reviews and evaluates records, technical documents, and ledgers for accuracy and compliance to policies.
• Compiling and reporting financial information to management and government agencies.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
• Responsible for special projects as requested by management and other duties/ responsibilities as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
